Repeated and consistent use of skincare products with thiamidol has been shown to improve the appearance of hyperpigmentation. In clinical studies, it was shown to significantly improve facial hyperpigmentation, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and age spots.
Thiamidol (isobutylamido thiazolyl resorcinol) is the most potent inhibitor of human tyrosinase out of 50,000 tested compounds.
Thiamidol is safe for all skin types and tones.
There is minimal data on contraindications for the topical application of thiamidol. Although rare, patients with an allergy to thiamidol, its components or its byproducts should avoid use of products containing thiamidol.
