Blue tansy oil has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. It can calm and smooth dry skin and can be helpful for those with eczema or acne. It is also thought to protect skin against the harmful effects of sun and pollution.
Blue tansy oil is derived from the blue tansy plant, a member of the chamomile family, originating from Morocco. The oil, which has a naturally blue hue due to its chamazulene content, is steam extracted from the flowers of the blue tansy plant. Chamazulene is responsible for the oil’s anti-inflammatory and calming properties.
Blue tansy oil is generally considered safe for all skin types, although more safety studies are needed for a better understanding of its side effects.
There are no specific contraindications associated with blue tansy oil.
